A big welcome to Laura McCarthy, our Senior Recruitment Consultant.

Laura started her recruitment career in rec2rec and tech sales before finding her way to healthcare - the sector she loves most!
She initially began in recruitment when she was approached by an old boss, and it was here she realised this is her industry. "I love that I get paid to chat to people all day as I don't stop talking!"

What attracted Laura to Limelight? "Being surrounded by some of the most successful recruiters in Healthcare in Sydney! Love being in such a high-performing environment!" Her day-to-day role includes "recruiting allied health and social care roles across metro Australia."

Outside of recruitment, Laura enjoys soaking up the sun at Bondi Beach and reading a good book.

Have you met Beca Hartson, our Senior Recruitment Consultant 🌟

Beca began her recruitment journey in healthcare, and after exploring other areas, she realised the fast-paced, people-focused nature of the healthcare sector is what she enjoys most.

What led her to a career in recruitment? "I fell into recruitment, but quickly grew to enjoy it as I like working with both candidates and clients. I enjoy building relationships and the satisfaction of making strong matches that work well for both sides." As a senior recruiter, she'll be working with clients and candidates across the public, private and not-for-profit sectors. "I’m most looking forward to exploring the permanent recruitment market across Australia and building strong relationships with candidates and clients nationwide."

Outside of work, Beca is a self-proclaimed foodie and has lived in 15 cities!

CRANAplus 2026 Wrap Up 🌟

Carly and Dani had the pleasure of attending this year’s CRANAplus Conference last week, connecting face-to-face with so many incredible nurses, clinicians and healthcare workers from across remote Australia.

They've shared:-
"One of the biggest highlights was finally meeting clients we’ve worked with over the past 10 years and putting faces to names. Hearing firsthand about the realities and challenges of remote nursing was both insightful and inspiring, and a reminder of the important work these healthcare professionals do every day."

"We also loved celebrating the amazing award winners recognised throughout the conference, soaking up the atmosphere, collecting some great merch… and of course, spending time with the therapy dogs 🐶"

The theme of International Nurses Day for 2026 is 'Our Nurses. Our People. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.' Since 1974, it's been a reminder of the legacy of Florence Nightingale, or "The Lady with the Lamp", who introduced hygiene standards during the Crimean War.

Today, according to the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing, nurses are the largest clinical workforce in Australia, with almost 500,000 nurses and midwives.

We work with nurses day in and day out, and extend our immense gratitude to all you do to keep our world spinning. You see us on our best and worst days and make a real difference with your care and selfless nature.

Giving back as a team is something we value deeply, and last Friday we had the opportunity to spend the day volunteering with ReLove.

ReLove - Shop For Good does incredible work supporting people as they rebuild their lives after hardship, helping those being rehoused to turn empty spaces into safe, comfortable homes. Many of the individuals they support are women and families affected by domestic violence.

Throughout the day, we got involved wherever we could. From building new furniture pieces and setting up a home ready for someone to move in. Some of the team also got to assist ReLove clients as they selected pieces for their space. It was a hands on and genuinely rewarding experience.

Seeing the direct impact of this work, and being part of helping someone take a positive step forward, is something that will stay with us.

We’re grateful to the ReLove team for having us and for the important work they do every day.

Say hello to Jean Dominador, our Talent and Compliance Officer 👋🏻

Jean brings a wealth of experience across a range of industries, before discovering her passion for healthcare recruitment. Since then, she has worked behind the scenes supporting teams with onboarding, compliance and shift coordination, helping candidates feel prepared and ensuring clients feel supported at every stage.

What drew her to recruitment? “I didn’t originally plan to go into it, but I found I really enjoy helping people secure work and supporting them through the process. I also enjoy the operational side, especially in healthcare, where things move quickly, and you need to stay organised and responsive.” As part of our aged care temp team, Jean supports recruitment and staffing operations, from onboarding candidates and managing compliance requirements to coordinating shifts and keeping everything running smoothly. “I’m looking forward to growing in the role and supporting the team wherever I can.”

Outside of work, Jean is all about family time. With 11 nieces and nephews, there’s never a dull moment!

Meet Rachael, our passionate, people-person, Recruitment Consultant ⭐️

Rachael has always been in healthcare recruitment, starting out in aged care temp before moving into regional and remote contracts, now coming full circle back into aged care temp with Limelight. With a background in nursing, stepping into recruitment felt like a natural move. “I already understood the pressures nurses and facilities face, so it just made sense.”

What keeps her passionate about the role is the people. “I really enjoy having genuine conversations with nurses and clients, and supporting facilities when they’re short-staffed. It’s nice knowing the work actually makes a difference.” In her role at Limelight, Rachael will be helping aged care facilities stay fully staffed, jumping in to fill roster gaps and support last-minute shifts, ensuring no one is left short when it matters most.

Outside of work, you’ll find her playing Gaelic football, exploring new beaches, or heading out for food and drinks. And fun fact - she’s a twin!
