It’s hard to believe this footage is 10 years old.
These behind-the-scenes moments are from ‘You’re Just in Love’ the gorgeous wedding episode from Season 4 of A Place to Call Home.
This episode was filmed over two days and featured a wonderful wedding crowd. Allsorts supplied around 40 extras for the scene, including many of the musicians, dancers and wedding guests you can see in this footage, helping bring this beautiful celebration to life.
Still one of our favourites, and still just as lovely to revisit all these years later.

Thanks so much to all our new followers.
I thought I’d take a moment to introduce myself 💖

My name is Pia, and I’m the founder and director of Allsorts Casting.

At heart, I’m a bit of a matchmaker. I love joining dots, solving puzzles, and bringing the right people together at the right time.

Allsorts actually began in a rather unexpected way. While A Place to Call Home was in pre-production, the wardrobe department asked if I happened to know any friends with fabulous 1950s frocks who might be willing to self-style.

The puzzle was set, the calls were made, the roles were cast and the rest is history.

These photos are from that very first day in 2012, the very first extras we ever cast, all stepping onto set together for the very first time.

We went on to work across every season of A Place to Call Home, from that very first day through to its final chapter.

Fourteen years later, the Allsorts team has cast thousands of wonderful faces across feature films like Ladies in Black, Hacksaw Ridge, Play Dirty and Street Fighter, as well as beloved television series including The Artful Dodger, Ten Pound Poms, NCIS: Sydney, A Place to Call Home, Love Child and Last King of the Cross.

Our artists have stepped into all sorts of adventures, from the pages of Marie Claire to campaigns for Cointreau, from billboards for Sydney Living Museums to live events for some of Australia’s most loved brands and cultural institutions.

It all started with a question… and we’ve been answering Allsorts of casting questions ever since.

So here’s the next one… would you like to join us on our next fabulous production?

Kindest,
Pia

A little stolen moment in the garden between ballroom scenes on The Artful Dodger.

Jodi and Kurt looking utterly splendid in these beautiful costumes.
Proof that even between takes, period dramas have their moments of accidental elegance. 🦩🦩🦩

Tomorrow marks the official release of Season 2 of The Artful Dodger on Disney+.

We absolutely loved working on this show — incredible characters, a world that felt decadent, raw and gritty, with flashes of fantasy woven through it all. So much fun on set, and such a joy to be part of something this bold and beautifully imagined.
