New analysis from SEEK is painting an encouraging picture for Australian workers. Rather than replacing jobs, AI is increasingly augmenting them, with early-career roles in knowledge-based occupations actually growing as AI helps workers perform tasks more effectively and lowers the experience barrier for some positions.

The data suggests the labour market effects of AI are still unfolding, but the direction for professionals who are staying sharp and adapting is a positive one. As one leading AI investor put it, the task for workers is simply to elevate towards the more specifically human things that only people can do, trust building, relationships and real world engagement.

For professionals across Australia, this is a good reminder that the market is still moving and the right opportunity is still very much out there.

Today is R U OK? Day and it is a good reminder that the most important check-in you can do today has nothing to do with your to-do list.

A simple conversation can make a real difference to someone who might be doing it tough. Whether it is a colleague, a friend, a family member or someone you have not spoken to in a while, today is the day to reach out and ask.

At Mills Recruitment we genuinely believe that people are at the heart of everything we do. Looking after each other is part of that.

So today, ask the question. Listen. And be there.

Malaysia expects its AI push to create up to 500,000 new jobs and add RM20 billion annually to GDP by 2030. With RM144 billion already approved in data centre and cloud computing investments and national capacity set to double by year end, the growth is happening now not in the future.

The digital economy already contributes 25.5% of Malaysia's GDP and is on track to reach 30% by 2030. For professionals across Malaysia, that trajectory points to sustained and expanding demand for skilled people across technology, digital infrastructure, AI and related fields for years to come.

The article is worth a read for anyone thinking about where their career sits in Malaysia's rapidly evolving economy.

Singapore's fintech sector is growing and AI is playing a direct role in driving that expansion. Airwallex is targeting close to 800 employees in Singapore by the end of 2026, Revolut has nearly doubled its local headcount over the past year and YouTrip is pursuing at least 10% headcount growth before year end. Roles are open across product, engineering, design, risk, compliance and finance.

What is encouraging is the message coming directly from these businesses. AI is not reducing the need for people. It is increasing it. By handling repetitive work, teams are being freed up to focus on higher value projects, which is creating more capacity and more opportunities for professionals who are ready to grow alongside it.

For candidates across Singapore and the wider region, this is a market worth paying close attention to right now.
