I'm still looking for a couple of lovely locals who might have time to drop by and chat to a couple of seniors who are feeling a bit lonely and isolated. It's not a big commitment, just one or two hours once a week -at a time and day that suits you. If one of my lovely seniors sound like someone you'd like to meet, please give me a call.
* A man in Yamba who enjoys a good conversation and maybe a bit of pool. AND
* Two ladies in Grafton who each enjoy reminiscing and play cards and/or scrabble AND
* One lady in Grafton who enjoys reminiscing and knitting AND
* A man in Grafton who enjoys gardening, keeping fit and healthy, reading, playing cards, and used to really love fishing.
CVS introduces you to lonely and isolated seniors living in your area for the purpose of friendship and to share the things you love to do. Visits are flexible and usually about an hour per week. For more information, call or email Lainie - details below.

Volunteering Australia invites new government to reimagine volunteering. Read the media release here:

The Volunteering in Australia organisation survey is an historic opportunity to capture the current state of volunteering, map trends, and consider how volunteering may evolve into the future.
If you are a Manager or Coordinator of Volunteers, Program Leader, CEO, or otherwise represent an organisation or group involving volunteers, we invite you to have your say on the future of volunteering.
By participating in the survey, you will help build the most comprehensive understanding of volunteering in Australia’s history.
We have partnered with Curtin University, Griffith University, and the University of Western Australia to undertake this landmark research.
The findings of this research will inform the development of the National Strategy for Volunteering, which will provide a blueprint for a reimagined future for volunteering in Australia.
The survey will be open until Thursday 2 June

Don’t forget to recognise your volunteers; those stalwart team members of whom you can depend and have come to rely on. It’s not a difficult process to nominate them and it’s a small thing you can do to let them know how much they mean to you.
