Karlka Recruiting Group and BHP have inducted the first 8 new Aboriginal trainees at their Eastern Ridge site in Newman for the year.

The Trainees are residential in Newman and will be completing Certificate II in Environment and Ecosystems whilst working at BHP. Our Community Partnership Liaison Officer, Toby Hunter will support the Trainees whilst they are completing their traineeship.

These Traineeship now commence yearly and take 12 months to complete. The Traineeships take place on Nyiyaparli Country (specifically at Eastern Ridge and Mount Whaleback). We encourage any Newman based members who are interested in the Traineeship to put their name down with Toby if interested.

About the company
Karlka Recruiting Group has partnered with a Federal Government Agency to engage an EL2 Project Director. This position is located in any of their locations for an initial contract until 30 June 2025.

Duties
- Provide strategic advice and support to the Executive and key governance committees in respect to the governance and assurance of formal projects
- Lead and manage a geographically-dispersed work area and its resources in accordance with the strategic directions, corporate plan, legislative framework and other policies.
- Build and maintain effective, professional relationships
- Lead the development of sound program and project governance arrangements
- Lead and manage the specified project, staff performance and financial resources
- Maintain accountability and responsibility for the management and allocation of resources and delegations
- Build project management capability across the client, and provide guidance on the use of project methods and project management tools

Requirements/Skills
- Experience at an EL2 level is highly regarded
- Specified personnel must be Australian citizens.
- Specified personnel will require a Pre-employment check/Baseline clearance before commencement.
- Experience in a digitisation/archiving role is highly regarded
