Skilling & Employment Centre, What are we all about?

Skilling and Employment is a local community initiative funded by Lendlease to assist job ready people in the Ropes Crossing, Jordan Springs and Penrith to Blacktown surrounding areas. It is our aim to encourage people to be independent and motivated in their job search and we use every endeavour to help them find appropriate work.

To assist job seekers, we offer a number of free facilities after an individual has had their initial appointment. These facilities include: - Internet access to job search sites - Photocopier and telephones - Newspapers - Assistance with resume preparation and up-dates - Help with job applications - Information regarding local training courses - Information regarding apprenticeships and traineeships - Support whilst you search for a job - Interviewing tips - Referral to current job vacancies

In 2016, we commenced our Construction Employment initiative which also offers free services to jobseekers and employers. The initative is building a network of local employers to identify the skills needed to support the construction and infrastructure demand in Western Sydney. Job seekers are referred to pathways into civil construction, trade services and apprenticeships as well as access to industry training.

We also work with local employers to assist with their Employment vacancies. We do this by providing free services which include: - Find local, motivated workers - Review resumes - Interviewing and pre-screening - Referral of most suitable candidates
