Part-Time Boat Ramp Fishing Surveyor
Location: Yeppoon, QLD

We are seeking a friendly and knowledgeable Boat Ramp Survey Interviewer to assist with research and monitoring of recreational fishing in the Capricorn Coast region. Your role will be to engage with fishermen and the general public at local boat ramps, record catch details, and accurately identify fish species.

About the role:
Chat with recreational fishermen at public boat ramps at Keppel Bay Marina and Cawarral Creek.
Record data on fish species caught as part of ongoing research and monitoring.
Work 2 weekend shifts (Sat or Sunday) and 2 Fridays per month: approx 4 shifts per month - 4 hour shifts.
Excellent Hourly Pay including Penalty Rates - PAID WEEKLY

What we’re looking for:
Genuine interest in fishing and marine life.
Strong knowledge of local fish species and confident identification skills.
Excellent communication skills and confidence in approaching members of the public.
Reliability and attention to detail.

MUST be an Australian citizen or permanent resident to apply for this role. (Working Holiday Visas will not be considered as this role will be ongoing and may lead to permanency).

University students studying marine science, biology, or related fields.
Retired persons with fishing knowledge looking for a small, regular income.

A Summary of the role:
Operate machinery including Excavators, Loaders, Skid Steer, Graders (where licenced)
Work locally or remote/work away project as required
Perform general labouring duties including site clean-up and manual handling
Use hand and power tools safely and effectively
Assist with traffic management and site set-up activities
Cary out basic maintenance and housekeeping tasks
Maintain WHS site specific requirements

To be successful in the role you will:
Previous civil construction experience
Plant operating experience and relevant tickets (highly regarded)
Construction White Card
Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
Strong commitment to safety and teamwork
Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening
Have full working rights in Australia
Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safety and its importance in every role.
