The annual Fair Work wage increase is coming. Here is what it means for you. 📋

Every year the Fair Work Commission reviews and adjusts minimum award rates. For workers in the trades, this means your pay rate is going up. For employers, it means ensuring your workforce is paid correctly from the effective date.

Here is what you need to know:

1. Wages are going up. Check the new rates that apply to your award.
2. It applies to award and agreement rates. Employers must apply the increase from the effective date.
3. Labour hire workers are included. On-hire employees are entitled to the same rate increases under their applicable award.
4. Not sure where you stand? Speak to your RPR consultant. We stay across these changes so our clients and workers always get it right.

It is not just a box to tick. Here is what it looks like in practice every single day:

1. Knowing the hazards before work starts. Pre-checks, site briefings and risk assessments done before anyone picks up a tool.
2. Placing the right person in the right role. A mismatch between worker and role is one of the biggest risks on any site.
3. Compliance built in from day one. Tickets, inductions and checks completed before anyone sets foot on site.
4. Ongoing check-ins, not just at placement. Risk does not stop at day one. Neither do we.

Meet Karl. 👷

Trade Assistant at one of our Brisbane sites — and someone who summed up exactly what RPR Trades is about without even trying.
