Meet the people behind IronMerge People: Ian Smith

Ian is part of our Facilities Maintenance team, supporting candidates through the mobilisation process once they have been approved to join one of our clients.

From gathering documentation and arranging inductions to ordering uniforms and answering candidate queries, Ian helps make sure each person is properly prepared and ready to commence.

He is often the person candidates and colleagues turn to for practical support or advice when they are unsure about the next step. Ian says successfully mobilising someone accurately and within a short timeframe is both a significant achievement and one of the most rewarding parts of his role.

What does he enjoy most about IronMerge?
The fantastic team environment and the connection between colleagues working across Australia and overseas.

Outside work, Ian enjoys spending time with family and friends, following his favourite sporting teams, watching movies, reading, dining out and socialising.

His quick-fire favourite things include the Avatar films, an R&B playlist, weekends with family and friends, and a flat white with a cinnamon scroll or caramel slice.

These roles are FIFO ex Perth Airport only and are ideal for candidates with previous experience working in mining camps, villages, or industrial cleaning environments.

What’s on Offer:
• Permanent Fulltime 2:1 Roster
• $87k per year + applicable loadings
• FIFO ex Perth only – WA Residents
• Fortnightly pays
• June & July starts available once onboarded

To Be Considered You Must Have:
• Open & unrestricted WA Manual Driver’s Licence
(No P Plates, Interstate or International licences accepted)
• Previous experience driving vehicles within a mining environment
• Previous FIFO industrial or village cleaning experience
• Ability to pass a full pre-employment medical & drug/alcohol screen
• Clear National Police Clearance less than 6 months old
• Australian Citizenship or Permanent Residency
• Currently residing in Perth, WA
• Ability to commence onboarding immediately
