My name is Dr Charl du Plessis. I am an International Medical Graduate from South Africa and we moved, as a family, to Australia in 2006 where I worked in rural and remote Western Australia. As with most remote solo practices, it was always challenging to find locum doctors for the times when I was not available. After all I still needed time for family and studies to gain my GP fellowship.
Even now, as a practice owner in a growing business, I've found that permanent placements and locums are still difficult; not only because they were hard to find, but also because I've found it hard to justify the exorbitant agency fees for such placements. I constantly found myself at the short end of the stick, having to deal with the financial losses when a permanent placement leaves, an incorrect placement for the required position, or costly agency contracts.
So in this day of rapidly growing technology, my partners and I felt that the time was right to connect practices and people with a service that is not only a strong fit but is also highly cost effective, creating a win-win scenario for both employees and employer.
