Meet the Speaker: Cass Ryan 🎤

Joining us for our Different Industries panel, Beyond Mining and Resources, at Breaking Beyond is Cass Ryan, Alliance General Manager of the Warship Asset Management Agreement (WAMA).

After 26 years serving in the Royal Australian Navy as a Marine Engineer, Cass has spent the last three years leading the WAMA Alliance, bringing together BAE Systems Australia, Babcock Australia, SAAB Australia, and the Commonwealth of Australia to deliver sustainment and capability upgrades for the Anzac Class Frigates.

Beyond her day job, Cass is a member of the Byford Secondary College and Beenyup Primary School Boards, Vice President of the Serpentine Jarrahdale RSL, and Mentoring Lead for the Women in Defence Association in Western Australia. She is also a graduate of the Company Directors Course.

Meet the Speaker: Melissa Latter 🎤

Joining us for our Career Progression panel, Beyond Perceived Limits, at Breaking Beyond is Melissa Latter, WA Business Development Manager - Mining and Construction at Techking Tyres Australia.

With a career spanning nearly two decades in the tyre industry, Melissa began in 2008 as a trainee tyre fitter at Mount Keith mine site, gaining the hands-on experience that has shaped her practical, technical approach. Today, she works closely with mining, transport, and construction customers across Western Australia, supporting tyre selection, trials, performance monitoring, and long-term fleet solutions.

She is also the founder of WITTI - Women in the Tyre Industry, an initiative focused on connecting, supporting, and empowering women across the sector. Melissa is passionate about building stronger industry connections, encouraging career development, and highlighting the wide range of opportunities available to women.

Meet the Speaker: Raul Gonzalez 🎤

Joining us for our Different Industries panel, Beyond Mining and Resources, at Breaking Beyond is Raul Gonzalez, who leads Alstom’s Australian and New Zealand Signaling Maintenance support services.

With more than 18 years’ experience across rail, mining, infrastructure, and power, Raul oversees 24/7 technical support and change management across heavy-haul, urban, and passenger rail networks. He’s also held senior commercial and contracts roles with Bombardier Transportation and BHP, including the Melbourne Metro Tunnel and the South Flank Mine development.

He’s known for practical problem-solving and values-led leadership, and brings a grounded perspective on building teams and simplifying complex processes.
