This National Reconciliation Week in Australia, at Gold Fields we reflect on the importance of building strong, respectful and enduring relationships with Traditional Owners and communities connected to the land on which we operate.

This year’s theme, All In, reminds us that reconciliation requires collective commitment - through listening, learning and working together to create a stronger shared future.

This video highlights one example of that commitment in action, as we recently celebrated the signing of a Native Title Agreement with the Wangkatja Tjungula Aboriginal Corporation (WTAC), on behalf of the Nyalpa Pirniku people, for the land on which our Granny Smith mine operates.

We remain committed to supporting cultural heritage protection, creating meaningful opportunities, and fostering mutual respect across our operations.

Mining can sometimes feel daunting for people who may not initially see themselves in the industry. However, proud Ngadju woman Tamara Munroe’s journey demonstrates that pathways do exist, and sometimes, all it takes is reaching out.

Through a Trainee Processing Technician role in the St Ives Gold Mine laboratory, Tamara has taken on new opportunities with quiet determination. While she grew up on Yamatji Country, returning to work on Ngadju Country has given Tamara a powerful sense of connection.
