Due to the extension of the successful Boosting Apprenticeship Commencements wage subsidy, which was originally set to expire on 31th March, there is no better time to hire an apprentice.

Under the extended scheme, employers who hire apprentices before June 30th will have their wages subsidised by 50% for the first year up to a maximum of $28,000. The wage subsidy will be reduced to 10% in the second year, and to 5% in the third year.

There is a Federal Government subsidy, called Boosting Apprenticeships Commencement, which can be helpful in paying for a brand-new apprentice!

However, it is running out on the 30th of June 2022.

The BAC wage subsidy provides employers with wage subsidy support for 12 months, ending on 30 June 2022.
