⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ What great recruitment should feel like. This week's Friday Feedback!

At Be Recruitment, we often talk about the importance of relationships, communication, and doing what we say we will do. It's always rewarding when candidates take the time to tell us we've made a difference.

Whilst finding the right person for the right role is important, we believe the experience candidates have throughout the recruitment journey matters just as much.

Whether someone is successful in securing a role or not, they deserve:

✔ Clear communication
✔ Honest feedback
✔ Regular updates
✔ Respect for their time and effort
✔ A positive candidate experience

With a 4.9-star rating on SEEK and hundreds of candidate and client reviews across multiple platforms, we remain committed to delivering recruitment services that are professional, transparent and genuinely people-focused.

A huge thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their career journey, and to our incredible team who continue to go above and beyond every day.

🎉 8 Years of Be Recruitment Group 🎉

This week marks 8 years since Be Recruitment was established.

When we launched in June 2018, our purpose was simple: to connect brilliant people with meaningful employment within the Health and Social Care sectors.

Eight years later, that purpose remains unchanged.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of partnering with incredible organisations across community services, disability, mental health, housing, homelessness, aged care, child and family services, and healthcare. We've supported thousands of careers, helped organisations build stronger teams, and built a business founded on trusted relationships, quality outcomes and doing what we say we will do.

Today, Be Recruitment Group continues to grow across:
✅ Be Recruitment – Permanent, Contract & Retained Search
✅ Workforce Services & Solutions (WSS)
✅ Be Executive – Executive Search & Board Appointments

None of this would be possible without our amazing team, clients, candidates and partners who have supported us along the way.

As we approach the end of another financial year, we're looking forward to coming together next month for our annual team catch-up to celebrate the achievements, challenges, growth and successes of the past year.

A huge thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey so far.

Here's to the last 8 years — and the next chapter ahead.

**Trusted connections. Quality placements. Stronger futures.**

Today we recognise International HR Day 2026 and the incredible HR, People & Culture, Workforce, and operational leaders helping organisations navigate increasingly complex environments with empathy, resilience, and leadership.

Across the community, health, housing, and NFP sectors especially, HR teams are balancing workforce shortages, burnout, psychosocial safety, retention pressures, compliance, leadership support, and organisational change — often while continuing to hold culture and people wellbeing at the centre.

Strong workplaces do not happen by accident. They are built by people willing to have difficult conversations, lead with empathy, support teams through uncertainty, and create environments where people feel safe, valued, and supported.

A huge thank you to all HR and People professionals continuing to make a difference behind the scenes every day.

🌟 April Employee of the Month – Kellie Hunter 🌟

We’re proud to recognise Kellie Hunter as our Employee of the Month for April 👏

Kellie brings a wealth of experience across NDIS, OOHC, and case management, and what truly sets her apart is the way she builds genuine, meaningful connections with young people.

One standout example? She learned to play Fortnite purely to connect with the young people she supports — creating a shared space to build trust, rapport and positive engagement. That level of commitment speaks volumes.
Kellie is passionate about supporting young people to build structure, independence and long-term goals — from improving routines and sleep hygiene to helping them navigate challenges with patience and consistency.

Her advice for others in the sector really captures her approach:

“Be present, be patient, and don’t force outcomes — consistency will achieve results.”

Outside of work, Kellie recharges through gaming or unwinding with a series (often catching up on Married At First Sight), and enjoys the simple comfort of a home-cooked meal shared with loved ones.

Kellie, thank you for the impact you’re making — this recognition is so well deserved 🙌

We’re proud to recognise Elijah as our Employee of the Month for March 👏
Elijah brings a calm, consistent, and genuine approach to his work, always focused on building strong, positive relationships with the people he supports. His commitment to helping clients develop independence and confidence is what truly sets him apart.

From getting outdoors for walks and fishing 🎣 to supporting clients in building routines and life skills, Elijah leads with authenticity and care in everything he does.

One thing that stood out to us was his advice for others in the sector:

“Stay grounded and focus on being a consistent, authentic presence for your clients and a positive influence.”

It’s this mindset that makes such a meaningful impact.

Workplace Happiness in 2026: Why Leaders Can’t Ignore It

Workplace happiness is no longer a “nice to have”. As we head into 2026, it’s a core driver of retention, performance, and organisational sustainability -particularly across health, community, and not-for-profit services.

According to the SEEK Workplace Happiness Index 2025, only 57% of Australians say they are happy at work, while 15% are actively unhappy. For organisations already facing skills shortages and burnout, this should be a wake-up call.

What actually drives happiness at work?

SEEK’s research shows the top contributors to workplace happiness are:

1. Purpose
2. Day-to-day responsibilities
3. Senior leadership
4. Company culture
5. Stress levels

Notably, pay alone doesn’t top the list. People want meaningful work, manageable roles, and leaders they trust.

Australians are happiest when:

Their work is interesting (34%)
They feel recognised (31%)
They feel productive (31%)

These are simple factors - but they require intentional leadership.

The Gen Z burnout warning
One of the most concerning findings is among Gen Z workers:

47% feel exhausted or burnt out
41% dread going to work
Only 49% feel valued

As Gen Z becomes a larger part of the workforce, organisations that don’t address workload, recognition, and wellbeing risk losing talent early and often.

What leaders should focus on in 2026

From what we see across the health and social care sectors, workplace happiness is built through:

1. Visible, consistent leadership
2. Clear purpose linked to everyday work
3. Sustainable workloads
4. Regular recognition and feedback
5. Genuine development pathways

The organisations that get this right don’t just retain staff - they build resilient, high-performing teams.

Workplace happiness isn’t a trend. It’s a strategy.

We’ve had a few questions lately about what it’s really like to work in recruitment at Be - so we asked the team 👇

A “typical” day? There isn’t one. 🎢
We support candidates making big career moves while working with clients navigating funding, approvals, time pressures, and the needs of vulnerable people. Both sides matter — and holding that balance is the job.

We support candidates making big career moves, while working with clients navigating funding, approvals, time pressures, and the needs of vulnerable people. Both sides matter — and holding that balance is the job.

The hardest part?
The emotional side. And the waiting ⏳
Between interviews and decisions.
Between “we love them” and “we’re still working through options.”
Between verbal offers and start dates.

That waiting is where the real work happens - staying in touch, reassuring candidates, keeping communication open, and not over-promising.

In health and community services, these decisions carry weight. Getting it right matters more than rushing it.

A good day?
Sometimes it’s a signed contract.
Other days, it’s helping someone feel heard and supported, even if the timing isn’t right yet.

Recruitment is complex. Often unseen. And deeply human.
