THANK A FIRST RESPONDER DAY

Today is Thank a First Responder Day. In Victoria our ambulance first responders include Community Emergency Response Teams, Ambulance Community Officers, Patient Transport Ambos, Paramedics and MICA Paramedics, Air Ambulance, as well as Ambulance Call-Takers and Dispatchers. Together they work alongside our Police, Fire, State Emergency Services, Marine Rescue and LifeSaving colleagues to keep Victorians Safe. We thank them all for their important work across every part of Victoria!

Another system failure that leads to paramedics and patient transport ambos being exposed to occupational violence.

Vital information sharing is a must in preventing assaults on ambulance workers.

“Not welcome lists” are leaving unwitting paramedics unloading violent or aggressive patients at hospital emergency departments for care, only to be turned away.

Violence, aggression, threats and abuse towards ambos is never ok.
