Project Manager/Construction Manager

Due to growth of this fantastic construction business, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced and results driven Project Manager/Construction Manager to join our Client’s team.

The role requires strong experience within the construction and fitout industry, supported by a successful track record in delivering multiple, diverse and technically challenging projects.



Duties include but are not limited to:



In this role you will be required to oversee multiple capital works projects from end to end, including:

Interpreting architectural designs and reading building plans
Liaising with clients and stakeholders, both internally and externally
Manage a team to deliver projects on time and within budget, with a focus on customer satisfaction, quality outcomes and successful stakeholder engagement
Evaluating tenders and liaising with tenderers
Appointing contractors and consultants as per the Procurement Guidelines
Overseeing construction to multiple building projects concurrently
Completing and preparing reports
Managing defects/liability periods
Approving variations
Undertaking multiple projects from inception to completion.
Consulting with architects, engineers, technical workers and stakeholders to ensure the design intentions are understood and executed.
Planning construction methodologies.
Analysing building contract documentation and negotiating with stakeholders.
Analysing and managing project risks.
Obtain permits/licenses for each project as required.
Executing a cost effective plan and schedule to complete the project.
Selecting trade contractors/subcontractors.
Project scheduling, estimating costs, coordinating the supply of labour and materials.
Managing construction sites and directing site managers/subcontractors, to ensure standards of building performance, quality control of construction, cost schedules and safety procedures are met.
Overseeing the performance of all trade/subcontractors and ensuring that all work is completed on schedule.
Directing and monitoring progress of all construction activity.
Overseeing the delivery and use of materials, tools and equipment.
Controlling payment to subcontractors by valuation of completed works.




Skills and Experience



To experience success in this role, you must:

Possess excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
Be proactive, and willing to collaborate/learn with others
Have a customer-driven mindset
Demonstrated experience in delivering major capital works projects
Experience in managing a teams including consultants and contractors
Proven experience on commercial projects with values no less than $5 million
Strong leadership skills
Exceptional communication skills both written and verbal
Eligibility to work in Australia with appropriate visa/PR/Citizenship and without need for sponsorship
Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Bachelor of Engineering / Construction Management.
Detailed construction knowledge with the ability to interpret architectural plans.
Experience in estimation, budgets, design, building standards.
The aspiration to succeed, be decisive, show initiative and achieve goals.
The ability to deliver projects under tight time frames within budget.
The competency to make calculated decisions.
Knowledge of safe work and environmentally responsible work practices.
Sound knowledge of Microsoft applications, MS Project.
Excellent administration skills.
Demonstration of strong leadership qualities with the ability to build and motivate a team.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Problem solving skills.
The ability to establish good working relationships with all stakeholders.
Manage and resolve project conflicts efficiently and effectively.

About the role

The IT Project Delivery Manager's primary responsibility is to ensure that the Reform project deliverables are managed and delivered in a timely and high quality manner to aid in the successful delivery of the VIEW IT system.

Support incidents, expanding on existing solutions or services.

Key responsibilities include (but not limited to: )

Deep understanding of Data Network infrastructure technologies.
Provide technical assistance and knowledge to guide Routing, Switching, Security, Load Balancing, Wireless and Cabling and general Data and Telecommunications activities across LAN, WAN, Wireless and DMZ with multiple vendors and clients.
