We are currently seeking an experienced Qualified Butcher to join our client’s team in Colac. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled butcher who takes pride in their work and is confident preparing a wide range of quality meat cuts for both retail and restaurant customers.
🥩 About the Role
Working as part of a busy team, you will be responsible for all aspects of butchering and meat preparation, from breaking down carcasses and primal cuts through to producing presentation-ready cuts for retail and commercial customers.
Your duties will include:
📌Breaking down and preparing meat to customer specifications
📌Boning, trimming and portioning a range of meat products
📌Preparing retail cuts and restaurant/commercial orders
📌Cutting steaks, chops, roasts and other specialty cuts
📌Maintaining consistent product quality and presentation
📌Weighing, packing, labelling and preparing orders
📌Working to food safety and hygiene standards
📌Maintaining a clean, safe and organised work area
📌Minimising waste through efficient cutting and trimming
📌Assisting with general day-to-day butchery operations
👨🍳 About You
We are looking for someone who is qualified, experienced and takes pride in producing quality work.
You will ideally have:
✅A Certificate III in Meat Processing (Retail Butcher) or equivalent qualification
✅Previous experience working as a qualified butcher
✅Strong knife skills and knowledge of meat preparation
✅Experience preparing meat for retail and/or restaurant markets
✅Good understanding of food safety and hygiene requirements
✅Ability to work efficiently while maintaining quality and presentation
✅Good attention to detail
✅Ability to work independently and as part of a team
✅A reliable and positive approach to work
