Mechanical Project Engineer | Brisbane | 3-Month Contract

We’re looking for an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer for an initial 3-month assignment, based at our client’s corporate office in Brisbane, supporting a major project in Papua New Guinea.

Key responsibilities include:
• Managing and responding to Technical Queries (TQs)
• Project controls and schedule monitoring
• Weekly and monthly project reporting
• Budget tracking, forecasting and cost reporting
• Engineering and contractor coordination
• Supporting the PNG project delivery team

Heavy industry, mining, oil & gas or major project experience preferred. Previous PNG experience would be highly regarded.

Hireyu Niugini Limited is seeking an experienced and highly organised Accountant to join our team in Port Moresby.

This is a full-time position responsible for managing the day-to-day accounting and financial administration of the business, including accounts payable and receivable, payroll support, bank reconciliations, taxation compliance, financial reporting and general ledger management.

Key Responsibilities
📊 Accounting & Financial Management
Maintain accurate financial records and general ledger
Complete bank reconciliations and month-end processing
Prepare monthly P&L, Balance Sheet and Cash Flow reports
Assist with budgeting, forecasting and management reporting

💰 Accounts Receivable
Prepare customer invoices and statements
Manage aged receivables and follow up overdue accounts
Allocate payments and reconcile customer accounts

🧾 Accounts Payable
Process and verify supplier invoices
Reconcile supplier accounts
Prepare payments and monitor outstanding liabilities

👥 Payroll & Statutory Compliance
Process weekly and fortnightly payroll
Verify timesheets, allowances and deductions
Maintain accurate payroll records
Manage Nasfund and other statutory obligations
Reconcile payroll accounts

Applicants must have:
Minimum 5 years' accounting experience
Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline
Strong understanding of accounting principles
Experience with accounts payable and accounts receivable
Experience with payroll and bank reconciliations
Experience preparing monthly financial reports
Solid understanding of Papua New Guinea taxation and statutory requirements.

Experience with the following will be highly regarded:
Xero accounting software
PNG GST and Salary & Wages Tax
Nasfund administration
Payroll processing
Recruitment or labour hire businesses
Intercompany accounting
Cash flow forecasting
Budget preparation
Audit preparation

🔹 Proven Scania truck experience
🔹 Strong diagnostic & fault-finding ability
🔹 Experience with preventative fleet maintenance
🔹 Ability to work independently
🔹 Current Driver’s Licence
🔹 Strong commitment to safety

Experience with fuel tankers, tipper trucks, hydraulics, PTO systems and electronic diagnostics will be highly regarded.
