🚴‍♀️🚴‍♂️ Thousands of riders came together for the United Energy Around the Bay cycling festival across Melbourne, Geelong and the Mornington Peninsula.

Out on the road and behind the scenes, the Altus Traffic Events Team VIC helped support the safe and smooth delivery of the event. From the control room, our team monitored traffic in real time, responded quickly to changing conditions and worked closely with stakeholders to keep everyone moving safely. 🚧

𝟮:𝟬𝟬𝗮𝗺. 𝗔 𝗣𝗼𝗿𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗦𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗔𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗺 𝗴𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗶𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗠𝗲𝗹𝗯𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀. Most people were asleep. Our Workzone Digitisation team wasn't.

When one of our Portable Site Alarms (PSAs) was stolen from an active Altus Traffic work zone in Melbourne, the team went straight into the system back end and did something a work zone isn't usually asked to do: they drew a new work zone around the whole of Melbourne. Then they waited.

At 3:15am the device was switched on, and within moments its GPS position, accurate to 2 to 5 metres, placed it at a single residential address. Victoria Police supported our team to attend the home, and with the location and device data in hand, the PSA was recovered and returned to our fleet.

The recovery is a good story, but the real point is the data behind it. The same live location, device status and full history that found a single alarm in a single house is what Workzone Digitisation gives our clients on every deployment: where every device is, whether it's working, when it was disturbed, and what happened on site, shift by shift.

Thank you to Victoria Police for their support and to our digital team for an early start we didn't plan for.

🏊‍♂️ 🏊‍♀️ Altus Traffic SA was proud to support the grand opening of the new City of Norwood Community Swimming Centre in Payneham.

With an estimated 3,500 patrons expected through the gates, additional parking arrangements, temporary traffic controls and local traffic management measures were implemented to help ensure safe and efficient access for visitors throughout the event. 🚧

A great outcome for the local community and a fantastic new facility for residents to enjoy. Well done to all involved in delivering a smooth and successful opening day. 👏
