So it's worth being honest about what our own data shows.
💵 Across ESG, environment and sustainability roles in Australia, the gender pay gap in FY26 sits at $19,832 - lower than the national average of $28,356, but still present.
💵 The gap is most persistent in discretionary pay - bonuses and long-term incentives - rather than base salary.
💵 One bright spot: at the Head of Sustainability level, women are actually earning marginally more than men. And at CSO level, female officers are earning 2.8% more than their male counterparts.
Progress is real. But it's uneven. And it won't close without transparency. That's exactly why we publish this data every year.
