Using the wrong tool might save you a minute but it can cost you an injury. Keep these things in mind when working with hand and power tools on any job:

- Use the correct tool for the task (no makeshift setups or shortcuts)
- Check power tools and leads before use. Faulty gear isn’t worth the risk
- Make sure you actually know how to use the tool before starting
- If the right equipment isn’t available, stop and ask

The right tools, and proficiency using those tools correctly will keep you out of harm's way.
