After a year of limitations, our very own Rohan Christie has welcomed tennis back into his community at Beaumaris Community Centre Tennis Club!

Earlier this month, Australian tennis icon and Mastercard ambassador, Alicia Molik, launched the new space upgrade of the tennis club, before taking to the courts and giving residents an opportunity to play an Olympics medallist!

The tennis club makeover welcomed members back with a curated 'Love All' community garden, and an array of advancements, including; creating picnic benches/tables made from recyclable plastics, restoring BBQs and developing an outdoor feature wall with paint that absorbs carbon dioxide.

"We've seen first-hand the community spirit and connection that tennis provides, and it's something we've really missed over the past 12 months. This transformation will be a real turning point for us. We have wanted to create a space around the courts that families and friends can watch, discuss and celebrate their shared passion in for years, so we welcomed Stuart and his team with open arms," said Christie.

Well done to Rohan and all the team involved in reconnecting the Beaumaris community again through a shared passion of tennis!

The sustainable restoration enabled the community to reconnect over their love of tennis while contributing to the future of our planet.

Over the last month, the Kingfisher team have been undertaking a 6-week mindfulness course, presented by Tania Burgess at Turn Up Your Zen.

At Kingfisher, we try to embody our values of Grow Better and Embrace Wellness as much as possible and this course allowed us to do both.

With the uncertainty and stress of COVID, it was really helpful to learn the skills and techniques to become more present and focused, and reduce some of the overwhelm.

Tania was an amazing presenter. She made the environment calm and welcoming and provided strategies that can help anyone take back control.

It was a fantastic way to take some time out and relax each week!
