The direct costs are approx 1/3 of salary, but the indirect costs - to team productivity, morale, cohesion - may be as much as x 4 salary.

And this dollar cost is just the start… If you hire the wrong person/ people, morale crumbles and performance suffers. But if you bring on the right talent, performance increases and growth accelerates.
