A long gap between interviews, unclear next steps or limited communication can be enough for them to accept another role, even if yours was initially their first choice.

A recruitment process does not need to be rushed, but it does need to keep moving.

Set expectations early, provide updates when you say you will and make decisions promptly once you have the information you need.
