Electrical Project Manager / EHV & HV Distribution Network Projects

Electrical Project Manager who has a solid electrical engineering background with experience working within a DNO (Distribution Network Operator) on EHV (Extra High Voltage) & HV (High Voltage) network projects is required for an initial 12 month contract that has the potential to run for several years for the right candidate.
THIS CONTRACT IS OUTSIDE IR35
RATE:£350 - £475 per Day (depending on experience)
LOCATION: Hybrid working from the office, home and onsite. Initially you will be expected to work from the office and onsite with potential projects covering Birmingham, Warwickshire and Milton Keynes, so you must be prepared to travel when required.
JOB TYPE: 12 Month Contract with the potential to run for several years for the right candidate.

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for a DNO (Distribution Network Operator) experienced Electrical Project Manager who has a solid electrical engineering background with detailed knowledge of working on EHV (Extra High Voltage) & HV (High Voltage) network projects.
Working as the Electrical Project Manager your main focus will be to manage non-contestable & contestable schemes, new connections, diversions and safety related schemes. All of which should be delivered in line with technical specifications, ensuring compliance with all necessary standards.
Although this role is a contract role, the dynamic of the team is very much a team environment, where the Electrical Project Manager would be expected to work with other Project Engineers and Project Managers to assist and advise were possible, and where you can expect the same from your colleagues to ensure your projects are successfully delivered.

DUTIES
As an Electrical Project Manager you will play a key role in supporting the design, and development of electrical distribution projects, as part of a wider project management team.
Your key responsibilities will include:
• Proactive management and coordination of non-contestable project delivery, including design, procurement, pre-construction, construction, commissioning and close out activities
• Primary liaison with client, with the ability to understand their requirements, actively steer, influence and manage their allocated projects
• Ensure works comply with the contract specifications & record and collate project documentation
• Identify & de-conflict various project type activities
• Assist & advise the project management team to: review & report costs; assist in delivery through the planning, land rights and consents phases; & manage all project controls, driving them through the process
• Manage client specific aspects of work within the compliance & connections process where applicable
• Support or manage construction/ delivery activity using both direct and contract delivery teams
• Develop, monitor and maintain the scheme programme(s), actively employing mitigation measures to negate potential delays and meet deadlines and report on a monthly basis
• Report accurate monthly forecasts for the scheme, taking ownership of budgets, contingency and expenditure to avoid overspends
• Identify, assess and manage risks associated with the scheme, providing monthly updates to the Risk Manager
• Review and approve supply chain invoices based on completed work
• Co-ordinate (with PMO team) key milestone inputs from client and Contractors; including design review, request for information, early warnings, site witnessing, connection and commissioning activities
Key Deliverables
• Responsible for the successful project delivery in a timely manner
• Management of end-to-end process, with assistance from wider project team
• Open minded and willing to work to solve the complexities and nuances of each project
• Monitor and control project costs ensuring they are within authorised budgets
• Active management and accurate reporting of key metrics on each project
• Compliance with all SHEQ requirements
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
• Have worked in a similar role with in a DNO previously (Essential requirement)
• Be able to demonstrate strong communication skills, and an ability to work within a team
• Have an ability to lead and manage projects from feasibility & design to energisation
• Ideally possess an Electrical Engineering degree or similar qualification supplemented by industry experience
• Be able to evidence experience of end-to-end HV project delivery
