Bookkeeper (casual / contract) required to work online for a busy general practice. This role is reporting directly to the Accountant and Directors. This position offers approximately 40 hours per week(full-time), though this may vary slightly as required.

Job Responsibilities;
Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
Develops a system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
Maintains historical records by filing documents.
Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills required;
Tertiary qualification.
Be interactive with the office team
Proficient in Microsoft office packages,
High proficiency in Xero and Quickbooks
High proficiently in Excel ,
Experienced with Payroll, Superannuation, WorkCover, BAS and IAS preparation and lodgment
Able to process accounts payable
Able to provide sound financial advice to the management team.
Capable of accurately managing financial files & records
Ensure financial transactions are properly recorded and entered into the computerised accounting system(s) inc. accounts payable & receivable
Strong verbal and written English communication skills
