Last week Emily Hart and Eran Clark attended the FINSIA Women In Finance 2020 event. The esteemed panel included Lin Lu (NAB), Nisha Rawal (Urbis) Nicholas Vamvakas (CBUS), Drew Bradford (NAB).
As senior recruiters in the financial services industry, it was really refreshing to see so many of our own views and opinions on diversity, mirrored by the comments we heard from the panel.
Everyone in the room agreed that trying to manufacture outcomes to reach a quota, is an effective way to address the issues of diversity. We need to be smarter about the way we look to offer career opportunities and progression in financial services to the candidate markets we are trying to target.
The discussion around pay equality, and maternity versus paternity leave, and the opportunity to hear the panels own personal challenges with discrimination, was extremely interesting. It was a great event.
