Today is Day, and iCare Staffing is proud to stand with our community in support of LGBTQIA+ young people.
This year’s theme is Colours of Courage, celebrating the courage LGBTQIA+ young people, their allies and their communities show every day, in all its different forms (big and small!).
You can get involved too! Wear purple, and take a moment to learn what young people themselves say they need from the adults around them. Visibility matters: it’s often what tells a young person that a space is safe and inclusive.
At iCare, we believe every young person deserves to feel safe, respected, valued and connected and we see this first hand in the work we do in out-of-home care. For young people living away from family, being accepted by the adults around them isn’t a small thing. It’s often the difference between a house and a home.

iCare Staffing attended Hester Hornbrook’s information session for their new Geelong Campus yesterday, and we are so excited for what’s coming! Well done to all the brilliant speakers. There was a clear message throughout: when education is built to fit young people rather than the other way around, lives change. It was fantastic to see so much interested in this new campus from the local community! Congratulations Hester Hornbrook! School done differently makes a huge difference in young people’s lives and we are very proud to partner with you!

Yesterday, iCare Staffing attended the opening of Juniper College’s impressive new Casey campus. Hearing directly from students (both current and past) and staff about the significant impact this school is having, was incredibly inspiring.
The cherry on top? Catching up with iCare alumni Desmond Petelo, who started his journey with Juniper College through iCare and commenced working directly with the Juniper team as a Youth Worker late last year. Watching the impact Des is having makes us very proud!

This year Cire is celebrating 50 years of commitment to education and community and we are so proud to partner with Cire’s education team, making a difference in young people’s lives and the community. We also couldn’t miss the opportunity to strike a pose with Cire’s Berwick School Principal Robin Lee and Cire’s Executive Manager for Education, Warren McLeod! 🧡
