Why do Recruiters Advertise roles? We sometimes get asked “why do you advertise, surely you already have candidates on your database?”
Yes, we do have candidates on our database, however we are engaged by our clients (the employers) to showcase their role and find them the best selection of current candidates for their role.
New candidates are constantly coming onto the market, moving into the area, or having a change of circumstance at work which means from month to month our candidate pool can change.
We source candidates in a range of ways - we use a mixture of our database, our own website, socials, SEEK advertising, and connecting with candidates that we’ve set aside, spoken to or interviewed previously.
There are also times when we don’t need to advertise at all as we may have just finished recruiting a similar role and know that we already have a good selection of current candidates to choose from.
We try to always provide our clients with a varied shortlist - a mixture of seasoned and well experienced candidates as well as a couple that are either doing a relevant career change and/or have slightly less experience, however, have the potential to step up.
As a private recruitment agency, we get paid by the client when we successfully fill a role so we wouldn’t be doing our job to the best of our ability if we didn’t undertake a thorough recruitment process.
