Say g'day to this beautiful baby wombat found recently near the resort. This little lady, who's been dubbed 'Dazette', was unfortunately found orphaned in her mother's pouch on the side of the road by one of our horse guides. It was her lucky day though, because our guides are trained to check the pouches of injured marsupials they come across, and care for them until they can be handed over to a wildlife carer at WIRES. Dazette spent the night with our guide, then was transferred to neighbouring Lithgow to be fostered by a professional carer until she is ready to be released back into the wild.
