National Reconciliation Week begins today with the theme 'All In'. It's a call for all of us to take responsibility for reconciliation, not just this week, but every day.

Understanding First Nations cultures, learning about our shared histories, and acting in our communities is ongoing work. It's what builds trust, creates opportunity, and shapes a better future for all Australians.

This week and always, we're all in.

Our Skills for Education and Employment (SEE) Program has wrapped up after a successful eight-weeks in partnership with TAFE Queensland.

The sessions ran onsite for three days per week and focused on strengthening numeracy, literacy, and digital literacy amongst our participants. The hands-on training also helped everyone involved build confidence in everyday tasks and develop their computer skills. Three participants even created their own PowerPoint presentations which were proudly shared with their peers.

All eight participants who have completed the program are now working closely with their Career Transition Coaches through the next stage - updating their resumes and applying for jobs, and working with TRACQS to find a job with local employers.

Congratulations to our participants on this fantastic achievement!

Today on ANZAC Day, 25th April, we pause to remember and honour the courage, sacrifice, and service of the Australian and New Zealand Army Corps (ANZACs), and all those who have served – and continue to serve – in wars, conflicts, and peacekeeping missions. Lest we forget.

A licence can change everything. For Nikita, living in Mutchilba without one meant relying on others just to get to work, training, or appointments.

Through the TRACQS Participation Options program, she built the skills and confidence to get behind the wheel and earn her Provisional Licence, removing a key barrier to employment. She's now looking ahead to opportunities in outdoor work that were previously out of reach.

Nikita was one of 6 participants who earned their Provisional Licence on 11 March, with 5 others gaining their Learner Permit on the same day.

It was a big day for everyone involved. Congratulations to Nikita and everyone who reached this milestone. We're so proud of you all.

From Dimbulah to Kuranda, TRACQS Community Projects is opening real doors across the Western Tablelands.

15 participants are already in paid work, 3 more are about to start, and 3 locals are taking the leap into self-employment.

For many people in remote and regional communities, earning a driver’s licence can open up more freedom and stronger pathways into work.

Through the Driving Program, participants build confidence and practical driving skills in real-world conditions. Shirleen is one of the participants currently taking part in the program and working towards gaining her licence.

TRACQS was proud to once again partner with Mareeba Shire Council to support the 2025 Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.

Through the appeal, gift cards were provided to participants in Dimbulah and surrounding areas to help with everyday essentials during a costly time of year.
