Seedlings are going in, irrigation is getting checked, and orchards like cherries are starting to wake up for the new season. 🌸

🚧 Civil construction is one of those jobs most people probably don’t think about until the road gets dug up.

It covers a lot more than roadworks too. Drainage, underground services, concreting, trenches, pipes and site prep are all part of keeping our roads, estates and infrastructure running.

It’s physical work, and with machinery, traffic and open trenches around, it’s also a job where staying switched on really matters.

A bit of appreciation for the crews getting it done out there. Have a good Friday 👷🍻

🚜 Not all material handling equipment does the same job.

Counterbalance forklifts handle the everyday pallet work, electric pallet jacks make moving stock around the floor easier, while reach trucks are built for tighter aisles and higher racking.

Different machines, different jobs, all helping keep warehouses moving. 📦

🥶 August might be one of the colder months, but there’s still plenty happening out in the fields.

Across Victoria, winter crops are growing, citrus is still being harvested, and vineyards and orchards are being maintained and prepared for the season ahead.

Add in foggy mornings, rain and muddy paddocks, and winter farm work can look a little different to the warmer months.

But there’s rarely a completely quiet time in agriculture. 🌱

🍊 Citrus season is in full swing.

Across Australia, winter means busy orchards as oranges, mandarins and lemons are picked, sorted and packed ready for market.

A lot of citrus is still picked by hand, helping reduce bruising and damage before the fruit reaches the packing shed.

Fresh off the tree and on its way to the shelves. 🍊

Pruning season is starting to roll through vineyards and orchards, and while the rows can look a bit messy at first, there’s a reason for it.

This is when growers cut plants back while they’re dormant, clearing away old growth and shaping them up for the next season.

Once pruning is done, the rows are cleaner, easier to manage and ready for healthier new growth. It also helps with airflow, light and overall crop quality later on.

Some crews still use the classic hand secateurs, while others now use motorised or battery-powered versions to make the job faster and a little easier on the hands.

A lot of the next season starts here, one cut at a time.✂️

Sales reps do a bit of everything.

They speak with customers, work out what they need, prepare quotes, answer questions and keep things moving after the first conversation.

A lot of things we use every day start as nothing more than a drawing, a sheet of metal or a length of steel.

Fabrication is the process of measuring, cutting, bending, drilling, welding and assembling those materials into something that actually works. From frames and handrails to machinery parts, trailers and warehouse equipment.

Fun fact: fabrication isn’t just welding. The measuring and fitting done before the weld is often what makes or breaks the finished job.

It’s skilled work, and a big part of how ideas become something real.

Olive harvest is underway across parts of Australia. 🫒

Depending on the grove, olives can be picked by hand or shaken from the trees using machinery, then moved quickly for pressing to help keep the oil fresh and full of flavour.

Fun fact: it can take around 5kg of olives to make just 1 litre of olive oil. That’s a lot of little olives doing the heavy lifting.

Not a bad way to press on into the weekend. 😄
