Draftsperson (Steel Fabrication) – Immediate Start

We are currently seeking an experienced Draftsperson to join a growing and dynamic steel fabrication team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional looking to contribute to a business in expansion mode.
This role may also suit a trade-qualified Boilermaker with strong drafting experience and proficiency in Advanced Steel and AutoCAD.
With drafting currently being supported by tradespeople, we are looking to appoint a dedicated third team member to strengthen design capability and improve production outcomes.

About the Role
In this hands-on position, you will be responsible for:

Producing detailed workshop drawings for structural steel and metalwork projects
Responding to a variety of drafting requests while providing technical support to Project Managers
Liaising with customers at the design stage, offering practical solutions and insights
Conducting 3D scanning, site measurements, and inspections to ensure designs are accurate and feasible
Building strong working relationships across internal teams and external stakeholders

Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Proven experience using Advanced Steel and AutoCAD (essential)
A trade background (Boilermaker) – highly regarded
Experience working within quality management systems and procedures
A current Queensland manual driver’s licence
Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
