Our clients need a wonderful after-school carer to assist with 2 children, aged ten and twelve years old. The focus of this role is to collect children from school and focus on the care, entertainment, homework and health and well-being of the kids.

You will be a fun, warm, happy person who loves being with kids. You will have experience with children of a similar age and understand their needs, balancing activities, homework and downtime.

You will be a self-starter with great initiative - seeing what needs to be done and getting it done without being asked. This would suit a mature person or uni student, with experience.

Days and Hours: 4 days, Monday to Thursday each week: 1pm - 6.30 pm

$35 an hour.

Duties:
- From 1pm – school you will work from the family's home preparing dinners for the family. From 2.45pm you will pick up the children from school.
- Managing the full care and safety of the children, and maintaining their after school routines
- Entertaining and age appropriate education activities
- Collecting children from school and driving to activities using carer’s car
- Preparing dinner & feeding children
- Prepare lunches and school bags ready for next day
- Opportunity for extra hours, especially during school holidays & nights
- Note family has a cleaner

You must have:

· 12 months minimum paid experience with children in a similar role
· Current First Aid cert
· Current Working With Children Check
· Current Police Check
· Current Driver’s License (car provided by client)
· Non smoker
· Okay with pets

Feminism. The buzz word that is constantly thrown around lately in all areas of life - work, relationships, our day to day discussions. Is it really a far stretch as Women to ask to be treated as equals? - I mean, it IS 2018.
We have come a long way over the years but yet there is still so much more to achieve. In my life time, i hope to see: equal pay, women not shunned in their careers for wanting a family - the ability to be able to have the flexibility to manage both, a female president, the decimalisation of s*x work, women lifting OTHER women and most important laws to eraticate s*xual harrassment within the workplace.
Then I will believe we are the road to feminism and equality.
Lets stop throwing around the word and lets start acting on the word. As appreciative I am of these 'movements' it is time we start hearing these voices and actioning them.
