With the regular season now complete, and just days away form Elimination Finals, I just wanted to acknowledge what has been a genuinely outstanding experience for our business Kite Recruitment Group.

Being associated with this season has been a point of real pride for our family-owned business.

Seeing our brand at AAMI Park is special, but the quality of the relationship behind that visibility has been super impressive.

A genuine thank you to the Melbourne Victory Football Club Team Marko Gluscevic Mia Thomson Oscar Oldfield Toby Roberts, Managing Director Caroline Carnegie and the rest of the team, who have hosted and supported us throughout the season.

They have been professional, responsive, welcoming and consistently excellent to deal with. In all business, those details really matter. They shape the entire value of a partnership.

I have taken plenty of shots over the years, and not all of them have landed. This one has. It has been one of the best commercial experiences I have ever had.

And to anyone who has not been to a game this season, Saturday night’s elimination final against Sydney FC in the Big Blue is the game to go to – our family cannot wait!!!

The Girls team who have also been fantastic this season have a semi-final against Melbourne City FC beforehand, which you should also definitely head to and get your support behind them.

Wish our star player ‘El Mago’🪄and the entire squad, both boys and girls, the very best of luck this weekend.

Great to see the AFL - Australian Football League season underway, and especially pleasing to confirm that Kite Recruitment Group has renewed and strengthened its long-term partnership with ahead of next week’s season opener.

Following an impressive 2025 campaign that resulted in a remarkable 4th-place finish in the Victorian Football League, the club enters this season with genuine momentum and every reason for optimism.

They’ve been the Tennis, the GP, heaps of Footy games, this was their first live Football encounter, and they loved it!

At their age, I left home every non-school morning with a ball, a water bottle, and £1.
One rule: home for dinner.

Now I’m watching (and hoping) my kids catch the same bug 🙌🏼

Grateful for a very unique Monday afternoon.

Natalie and I were invited to the Melbourne Victory Football Club players‑sponsored lunch on Monday and had the privilege of sitting with Kite Recruitment Group’s sponsored player, Juan Mata García for a couple of hours.

I was very excited (and a little nervous), we chatted about our path to Australia, our families and upbringing... then when he could finally get a word in, we heard about his journey through Manchester United and Chelsea, as well as his more recent experiences in different countries with unique cultures, he was also generous enough to share a few behind‑the‑scenes World Cup stories, that were fascinating.

A very down‑to‑earth guy with an elite résumé.

Big thanks again to Melbourne Victory Football Club, Marko Gluscevic, Mia Thomson and everyone involved for hosting us and for the hospitality.

We sincerely appreciate it.

Business networking is a lot like football (or even bowls) ... it’s a team game...

On Wednesday I attended my first Melbourne Victory Football Club’s Victory in Business networking event for lunch at Middle Park Hotel and an afternoon on the greens at Middle Park Bowls Club.

There was a great mix of people in the room. Different industries, different personalities, different stories, same goal: build better businesses and support each other along the way.

Great to have meaningful conversations with Slaven Vranesevic Robert Sretenovic Josh Graf Bianca Cubitt Frankie Condello Jeeva Sanjeevan.

I look forward to catching up again, meeting with and speaking to more of us at the next Game/Event.

Takeaways for me:
- Great ideas for your business can often come from people outside of your industry.
- One genuine conversation beats a stack of business cards.
- Community matters... it’s easier to be bold when you’ve got good people around you.
