Meet Ken. 👷

Skilled Team Member at our Kingston site in Brisbane — and someone who takes safety seriously from the moment he sets foot on site.

30 June is coming up fast. Here is a quick EOFY checklist for trades businesses to work through before the new financial year kicks off. 📋

1. Review your payroll and award rates. Ensure all staff are on correct rates ahead of the July Fair Work increase.
2. Confirm super obligations are up to date. Payday super starts 1 July — make sure your systems are ready.
3. Audit your workforce compliance. Check tickets, licences and inductions are current for all workers on site.
4. Plan your workforce needs for FY27. Speak to your RPR consultant about upcoming project requirements now.
5. Review contractor vs employee classifications. ATO and Fair Work scrutiny is increasing. Make sure you are across the rules.

This month's RPR Trades Star of the Month is someone who leads by example every single day on site. 🌟

Congratulations to Vu Ly — Machine Operator based in Wacol, QLD.

Vu has been with us since September and has consistently shown up with reliability, commitment and a quiet strength of character that does not go unnoticed. In March he went above and beyond, regularly stepping up for overtime and supporting both the team and the client.

Although quiet in nature, Vu is highly engaged on site. He attends every toolbox talk with a genuine positive attitude, has a zero incident safety record, and has become someone the newer and younger workers look up to.

Big changes to superannuation are coming on 1 July 2026. Here is what workers and employers in the trades need to know. 💰

From 1 July, employers must pay super at the same time as wages — every single pay run. No more quarterly payments.

Here is a quick breakdown:

1. What is changing? Super must now be paid with every pay cycle, not quarterly.
2. Why does it matter for workers? You will see your super contributions more regularly and can track them in real time.
3. What about labour hire workers? On-hire employees are fully covered. RPR Trades ensures all super obligations are met correctly.
4. What do employers need to do? Review your payroll systems now so you are ready before 1 July.

The annual Fair Work wage increase is coming. Here is what it means for you. 📋

Every year the Fair Work Commission reviews and adjusts minimum award rates. For workers in the trades, this means your pay rate is going up. For employers, it means ensuring your workforce is paid correctly from the effective date.

Here is what you need to know:

1. Wages are going up. Check the new rates that apply to your award.
2. It applies to award and agreement rates. Employers must apply the increase from the effective date.
3. Labour hire workers are included. On-hire employees are entitled to the same rate increases under their applicable award.
