🌿🌬️ Denmark’s community-owned wind farm is set to double its output, powering our town with clean, local energy and leading the way in Australia’s renewable future. With plans to expand and integrate power storage, this project shows how regional communities can drive sustainable change.

Green Skills proudly supports this effort through our involvement in the Totally Renewable Denmark initiative, working alongside the community to achieve 100% renewable energy and a sustainable future for our region.

🌱 Together, we’re building resilient, greener communities right here at home.

🔋💡 $80 Billion and Counting: Households Ready to Go Green 🌿🏡

A new report shows that more than half of Australian households are prepared to invest in making their homes more energy efficient — with an average spend of nearly $8,000 each. But despite the enthusiasm, many still face major barriers like a lack of knowledge, complex choices, and upfront costs.

At Green Skills, we’re working to close those knowledge gaps and empower communities — whether you're retrofitting, renting, or just starting to explore energy-smart options. 💬🔍

Up-front costs are a hurdle to many households making energy-efficient upgrades to their homes, a report suggests, but confusion is also a major deterrent.

🌿 Living Off the Grid – Real Life, Real Inspiration! ⚡🏡

On Sunday, locals joined a guided tour of Ellafields, the award-winning, all electric, offgrid home of Abbe & Mike in Shadforth, WA.

From solar panels and battery storage to passive solar design and induction cooking, Abbe & Mike have created a home that’s not only sustainable but truly livable. And they generously opened their doors to show us how it all works in real life.

“We love having our own little renewable power station,” they shared. “It really makes you think about how you use energy — and how much you actually need.”

The event wrapped up with a friendly Q&A over afternoon tea, with guests calling it “awesome,” “very informative,” and “great to see in person.”

📸 Check out the photos to see this inspiring home in action!

We are most grateful to the Kwoorabup Trust Fund and Renew for making this event possible.

Thank you to Abbe & Mike for their generosity and wisdom.
