🪸 🌊 Celebrating Success! 🌊🪸

A huge congratulations to the 9 graduates who have successfully completed the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program on Friday, delivered in partnership with Citizens of the Reef and GBR Biology. 🪸

Achieving a 90% completion rate from a program is something to be incredibly proud of, and it has been an absolute pleasure and honour to work alongside such an inspiring group of young people over the past six months. 🤩

Watching each trainee grow from day one to graduation, building confidence, skills, and experience, has been a truly humbling experience.

Programs like this show just how powerful opportunity, mentorship, and community collaboration can be. ❤️

At ITEC Employment we genuinely love what we do every day, and moments like this remind us why.

✨ We are already looking forward to Round 2 and seeing even more incredible outcomes!

Last Friday Sara from our Apprenticeship Team had the pleasure of attending the International Women’s Day event hosted by Cape York Partnerships at the Cairns Convention Centre.

It was such an inspiring morning celebrating the incredible women in our community and hearing powerful stories about leadership, resilience and creating opportunities for future generations. 💜

Events like this are a great reminder of the strength that comes from community, collaboration and supporting one another to achieve our goals.

Thank you to Karl from School to Jobs for the invitation and for the amazing work you continue to do supporting young people and communities across FNQ. 🏝️

I’m grateful to have been part of such a meaningful event and to connect with so many passionate people working to make a difference. 💖

🌊 A Powerful Day on the Reef with Our SQW Reef Trainees 🌊

Yesterday we had the privilege of spending the day out on the Reef with our Skilling Queenslanders for Work (SQW) Reef Trainees and what an incredible experience it was. Thank you to the program hosts Citizens of the Reef and GBR Biology 🪸

This marked their final reef recovery day for the program, and seeing the trainees confidently engaging with tour guests, sharing their knowledge, and speaking proudly about the work they’ve been part of was something truly special.

These programs are about so much more than training. They’re about:
✔️ Building confidence
✔️ Creating meaningful career pathways
✔️ Strengthening community connections
✔️ Empowering local people in environmental conservation

To witness the growth in these trainees from commencement to now has been inspiring. The hands-on conservation work they’re contributing to is not only supporting reef recovery efforts, but also building the skills and employability that will carry them into long-term careers.

A big thank you to our mentors for their ongoing guidance and support, and to our industry partners who continue to invest in opportunity and community.

A huge congratulations to Joannah on officially commencing her Plumbing Apprenticeship with Muzzas Plumbing & Gas!

This week we headed up to the beautiful Atherton Tablelands for our 3rd round of the Trail Builders SQW Program 🌿

Each trainee will complete a 22-week traineeship in Conservation and Land Management, learning hands-on skills, building confidence and stepping into real career pathways.

ITEC Employment is so proud to be part of this program for the third time. It’s a privilege to walk alongside these trainees as they grow, learn and create new opportunities for themselves.
