Why do we still prefer face-to-face meetings?

With video calls and virtual interviews now part of everyday life, it's a question we're often asked by candidates.

While online meetings certainly have their place, recruitment is about more than what's written on a resume.

Meeting in person gives our consultants the opportunity to get to know you, understand your experience, what you're looking for and what matters most to you in your next role.

It's these conversations that help us build genuine relationships and make better matches between candidates and employers.

At CBC Staff Selection, we believe that personal connection still makes a difference, which is why we prefer to meet face-to-face wherever possible.

💗 When our community comes together, we can make a real difference!

This morning, Tanara and Goda joined members of our Cairns community at Skypark Cairns by AJ Hackett for the Pink Ribbon Breakfast, raising awareness and vital funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

It was a wonderful morning supporting a cause that touches so many Australian families, and the girls even found the courage to take on the Giant Swing! Not a bad way to start a Thursday morning! 😅

A big thank you to the Skypark Cairns team for hosting such a special morning for a great cause! 💗

This full-time temporary opportunity will see you supporting a busy procurement function across tenders, purchase orders, RFQs and purchasing activities, while gaining valuable experience within a Queensland Government environment.

We’re looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, strong Word and Excel skills, confidence using computer systems and solid administration skills. You’ll be highly accurate, organised and ready to learn new systems and processes.

Hosted by the event brought people together for an important conversation about mental health, breaking down stigma and the power of connection.

A fantastic afternoon supporting a local organisation doing wonderful things in our community! 💙

When was the last time you gave your CV a proper update?

We're not talking about simply adding your most recent job!

A strong CV should make it easy for a potential employer to understand what you do well, what experience you bring and the value you could add to their team.

A few things worth checking:
✔ Is your experience relevant to the roles you're applying for?
✔ Have you included your achievements, not just your responsibilities?
✔ Is it easy to read and free from unnecessary information?

Sometimes a few small changes can make a big difference.
