Not everything that impacts your team shows up in a timesheet.

Stress, burnout, personal challenges… it all carries into the workplace.

That’s where the right support matters.

An Employee Assistance Program (EAP) gives your team access to professional, confidential support when they need it most, helping them stay resilient, focused and supported.

Looking after your people goes beyond policies and payroll. 👉 Learn more here: Explore IHR’s EAP https://zurl.co/UwqXk

Big changes are coming to how super is paid in Australia.

From 1 July 2026, employers will need to pay super at the same time as wages - not quarterly. It’s a positive shift for employees, but it means businesses need to be ready.

⚠️ Important: If your June quarter super isn’t paid and processed before your first July pay run, you could run into compliance issues - even if you pay in July.

Super funds can take 3–5 business days to process, so leaving it until the end of June may be too late.
Now’s the time to review your payroll processes, get on top of any outstanding super, and prepare for what’s ahead.

If you’re unsure where to start, we’re here to help.

84% expect a pay rise this year… but only 59% got one

According to recent SEEK research, there’s a clear gap between employee expectations and reality.
And that gap? That’s where frustration can start to build.

When expectations around pay aren’t met, or even talked about, it can impact:
-engagement
-motivation
-and ultimately, retention

What’s interesting is that many employees feel they’re being paid fairly… but aren’t necessarily satisfied.
So for businesses, the opportunity isn’t just benchmarking salaries, it’s understanding what your team is actually expecting, before it becomes an issue.

Because in today’s market, it’s not just about what you offer… it’s how it’s perceived.

Now is a good time to plan for your employee rates for the next financial year. Need some help? [email protected]

Lauren and Sarah recently attended the Gold Coast HR Symposium, where they connected with other professionals and explored some of the key challenges shaping today’s workplaces.

Across the day, sessions covered practical employment law updates, psychological injury claims, termination risks, and workplace investigations - all with a strong focus on real-world application.

We’re big believers in continuing to learn, grow, and stay connected to industry, it’s how we keep delivering practical, up-to-date support to our clients every day.

Great to see the team investing in their expertise

May was a big month for the IHR team 👇

From finalising complex workplace investigations - including sensitive matters involving workplace conduct to supporting termination processes, award rate reviews, and drafting work health and safety documentation, our team has been working closely with clients across a wide range of people and compliance challenges.

Throughout the month, we also delivered HR Foundations training, facilitated a 2-day DISC Accreditation program, conducted performance reviews, and supported businesses navigating more nuanced workforce matters, including the use of work-related content on personal channels.

Alongside this, we welcomed 6 new clients across payroll, performance management, and HR advisory, continued developing bespoke automation solutions tailored to IHR, and connected with clients and new networks at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show.

A strong month of hands-on support, capability building, and continued growth with plenty of momentum heading into EOFY!

🚨 Latest Wage Update for Australian Employers & Workers

The Fair Work Commission has just handed down its 2026 Annual Wage Review - with minimum pay rates increasing from 1 July.

👉 National Minimum Wage rising to $26.44 per hour (up 6%)
👉 Modern award wages increasing by 4.75%

This change will impact millions of Australian workers and employers, particularly across hospitality, retail, healthcare and admin sectors.

Now is the time to review:
• Payroll and employee rates
• Award classifications
• Business cost planning

Additional change: Entry-level award classifications are being updated, which may further impact some employee pay rates.

Stay ahead of the changes and make sure you’re compliant before the new rates kick in. Contact us if you would like to know how this will affect your business.
