NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING TRAINEE
MAP Recruitment are seeking self-driven and methodically minded individuals on behalf of our valued client to work in a team, where opportunities exist for ongoing work and career development.
The Role
Within your role as a Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Trainee, you will be initially learning, then providing assistance to a team of qualified NDT Technicians and Engineers, to test and investigate various items of plant and equipment to ensure reliability and integrity. Tasks may include replications, plant survey inspections, and accurately documenting findings. Forming part of a skilled and high performing team, you will be exposed to a variety of interesting and challenging work environments.
• Monday to Saturday roster – 10 hour shift patterns – 6 shifts per week - Day and Night shift patterns available when working on site.
• Entry Level EBA rates $32.40 p/h + accrual of time off in lieu (TOIL).
• LAHA and Accommodation provided to distant workers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assisting NDT Technicians and Inspectors to conduct required inspections and testing of plant and machinery.
• Documenting findings in a clear and concise format following instruction work packs.
• Conduct replications of metallic surfaces in accordance with Company procedures.
• Completing off-the-job (TAFE) studies, using an online learning platform.
• This position may require interstate and intrastate travel.
The successful applicant will ideally have:
• Hold an industry White Card (Required).
• Working at Heights, Confined Spaces and Gas Test Atmospheres (Required, however courses may be coordinated).
• Previous experience within Manufacturing, Mechanical and Automotive trades (Desirable)
• A high attention to detail, ability to follow direction and adhere to Work Health and Safety regulations
• Have the ability to work effectively within a team with strong communication skills and a willingness to challenge yourself and learn
• Preparedness to complete TAFE studies using online learning platform.
