Last week I had the honor of representing Prescribe at the 2024 AOA Annual Scientific meeting in Brisbane. It was a fantastic opportunity to reconnect with clients, network partners and industry colleagues at the highly successful event. Throughout the year Prescribe has actively participated in various AOA events across WA, VIC, and QLD setting the stage for an exciting 2025 ahead. Thank you AOA for the opportunity.

Such an honour and privilege to have the legendary Brisbane Lions' Simon Black kick off the Prescribe end of year day / Christmas party by sharing his inspirational journey with our team - who were all in awe and listening attentively. There were so many good takeaways and we all felt inspired to continue to build a team at Prescribe that is exceptional in every way. Then a quick change into crazy 80's getup saw the team set-off on a team building scavenger hunt through the city followed by a wonderful dinner. So excited about what lays ahead in 2024 and so very, very proud of our team!! A big thanks to Simon for sharing his Saturday with us and providing us with valuable insight into what makes a team exceptional!!

Last week it was a privilege for Zipporah and Scott to join some of their industry colleagues and represent Prescribe at The LifeHealthcare inaugural Emerging Clinicians Academy (ECA) which was established to support the training and development of Plastic Surgeons across Australia and New Zealand. The audience were very engaged and it was great to share tips on how to optimise the patient journey and create a harmonious team culture. Thank you LifeHealthcare for the invitation to be a part of ECA 2023. It truly was a pleasure!

In acknowledgement of October being Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Prescribe in conjuction with Genesis Cancer Care was priveleged to host a GP educational evening and have some of our wonderful clients present on the topic. Assoc. Professor Michael Gabbett - Geneticist spoke about how advanced genetic testing has become when testing for hereditary breast cancer; Dr Melinda Cook - Breast Surgeon spoke of the various ways breast cancer can be detected / diagnosed and treated; Dr Tuan Ha - Consultant Radiation Oncologist - Genesis spoke of the advancements in oncological treatement and Dr Kowsi Murugappan spoke of the surgical options including reconstruction that patients are presented with if surgery is required. A wonderful evening was had by all who attended and thanks to Genesis Cancer Care for their contribution to the evening and Allonda for the sensational catering.

It was a pleasure to represent Prescribe and present at the RACS ACT Younger Fellows and SET Trainees Dinner held at the National Press Club - Canberra on Thursday evening. Great to hear from attendees about the wonderful training, support and mentorship available to Fellows and trainees in the ACT.

A fantastic weekend in Melbourne mixing with network partners and representing Prescribe Practice Management at RACS Vic Preparation for Practice 2023 event. Such an important and beneficial event for surgeons considering venturing into private practice and we were thrilled to be a part of it.

Prescribe is extremely proud of its association with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and on the weekend I presented at the RACS NSW Preparation for Practice. With Prescribe participating in upcoming webinars and events throughout the year in Canberra, Sydney and Brisbane it looks like 2023 is going to be another busy year!
