Perfect Fit Personnel was founded in 1998 by Angela Shelest. Born in 1971 in the USSR, she migrated with her parents to Australia when she was 5 years old. Angela grew up and attended school in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs and during her high school years, worked in various retail fashion positions. Upon completing a marketing degree, Angela worked for a telemarketing firm and soon afterwards, joined
Macquarie Stationary Group. At age 21, Angela became the youngest account executive the company ever employed. Following the birth of her first two children, Angela’s ambitious nature and strong business acumen lead her to accept a part-time position as a recruitment officer, where she brought her baby to work. Soon after, this part-time position extended to full-time hours. Angela quickly realised that unless she started her own business, the juggle between motherhood and career woman was going to prove very difficult. Angela drew on her background for inspiration - her family have been in the fashion industry for over twenty years as manufacturers for the Australian Designer industry which meant she grew up surrounded by the fashion world. Back when local production was the only production choice in Australia, A and P Fashion were the makers of choice for designers and labels alike. Angela’s previous working experience in fashion and retail, her love of both industries and her family history combined to create Perfect Fit Personnel, a dedicated recruitment agency specialising in the fashion, retail and manufacturing sectors. Today, Perfect Fit Personnel has offices in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs, Melbourne’s fashionable South Yarra and Brisbane and has rapidly grown to boast a portfolio of over three hundred clients including Hermes, Gucci, camilla and marc, Pacific Brands, The Apparel Group, Zimmermann, Sass & Bide, Lisa Ho, Cue, Forever New, Diesel and more.
