contribute to fire prevention and emergency responses in their community. Retained Firefighting involves night and weekend work, and can be at times physically, mentally and emotionally demanding. NOW RECRUITING | Fire and Rescue NSW are now recruiting across the Hunter region. Bellbird Fire Station currently has two positions available for on call firefighters like Lauren.

Lauren has been with Bellbird Fire Station for around four months balances her career at a vet nurse with her on call firefighting role. She says it has been one of the best things she has ever done and has attended all sorts of jobs from car fires, to HAZMAT incidents and house fires.
