speediestaffsolutions are seeking a Safety officer for an immediate start in the Hemmant, Brisbane area (QLD).
This is an opportunity for a safety professional to lead, guide and educate on overcoming safety risks, investigations and return to work management across the business. Injury prevention and injury management is a key focus at NHP.
This role is suited for seasoned Injury prevention and injury Management professional, who is keen to partner with the team, provide options for improvement, and really understand the needs of the business. This individual will have experience engaging and driving change in safety culture through strong consultation with multi-levels of Management to blue-collar workforce.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on and willing to take this opportunity and make it their own. The role reports to General Manager.
The main duties will include, but not limited to:
* Implement prevention strategies to prevent injuries and incidents; and Engage and partner with your stakeholders to drive a culture of safety across the site * To promote and achieve a safe and healthy work environment * Implement safety and injury management functions and associated training * Conduct weekly reviews and analysis of incident trends, monitor safety performance and report any adverse trends immediately to the General Manager and Group General Manager * Facilitate the review and updating of Safety Documentation including Safe Working Procedures and Safe Work Method Statements. * Function as the Workplace Return to Work Coordinator * First Aid duties when required * In House Trainer and Assessor * Inductions * Recruitment * Staff performance management as required.
Experience, qualifications and competencies:
* At least 3 years proven performance and experience in an injury prevention and anagement/return to work/ workplace health and safety role * WHS qualifications – minimum Cert IV Workplace Health and Safety, Return to Work Coordinator or similar * Drive and promote safety and health capability across the business * Experience and current knowledge of safety principles and current State / Territory legislation and ability to interpret it according to business needs * Exceptional verbal communication skills * Confidence dealing with all levels of Staff. * A motivated self-starter who can work autonomously and is willing to roll up their sleeves and get hands-on. * Certificate IV in Training and Assessment desirable
