📢 New Aged Care Rules – Effective 1 November 2025
Are you ready for the changes?

From 1 November 2025, the Aged Care Quality Standards (Chapter 1, Part 6, Division 2, Section 15-30) will require that:

Providers must ensure that:
(a) Medicines are prescribed specifically for every individual before administration.
(b) Medicines are administered, monitored, and reviewed safely by registered health practitioners, taking into account the individual’s clinical needs and informed choices.

This means aged care and community care organisations will need suitably qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) and Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to meet the new medication management requirements.
