Summary of duties:
- As an Elderly Care Nurse you will provide comprehensive care and nursing services in nursing homes. You will support them in dealing with daily life and provide counseling. You will also motivate patients to participate in meaningful activities and recreational activities. In addition, you will carry out nursing and medical tasks in the areas of nursing care, basic care, therapeutic care, home care, psychosocial care, hospice care and working with relatives. The emphasis here is always on responsible, friendly and communicative interaction.
- Reporting to the Care Manager, the Care Home Nurse is responsible for ensuring a high standard of care for the residents of the home and their compliance with the German code of conduct and the home's policies and procedures.

Specific Responsibilities of the Position:
- Assist in the delivery of care in the nursing home, ensuring ongoing assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of resident care.
- Assist in ensuring that care plans are regularly reviewed and are appropriate to the needs of the residents and reflect the care provided.
- Manage the patient's health care plan according to the doctor's instructions
- Check temperature, blood pressure, pulse and other vital signs
- Manage and maintain a record of all prescribed medications
- Ensure that medication is ordered and administered in line with nursing home policies and procedures and German guidelines.
- Ensure that all regulatory and legal requirements are met and adhere to nursing home policies and procedures.
- Develop and promote good communication with residents, relatives and team members.
- Assist in the development and implementation of the activities program.
- Assist in the delivery of food and drink to residents.
- Assist with bathing and grooming on a daily basis
- Ensure all complaints are handled appropriately in line with the nursing home's policies and procedures.
- Actively engage with residents in meaningful conversation and discussions regarding their lifestyle choices in a manner that values the individual and respects their dignity and communication differences.
- Ensure confidentiality regarding residents.
- Respond in a timely manner to residents in the event of an emergency (calling or -requesting for help, knocking, or making sounds indicating the need for support) or -requesting assistance if you feel unable to respond appropriately.
Candidate Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree/diploma in nursing.
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
- Licenses to practice nursing.
- Ability to work well with minimal supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- German B2/B1 or willing to learn the language to this level.
Salary and Other Benefits:
- Total salary during the equivalency period is between 2,400 - 2,600 EUR depending on skills and language qualifications.
- After obtaining a license to practice nursing in Germany, 2,800 - 3,300 is the base salary. This varies depending on professional experience and field of work.
- Working hours per week: 35 - 40 hours/week
- Shift work: Early and late. Night shifts are rare, and there are some permanent employees for night shifts.
- There are allowances for night shifts, Sundays, and public holidays.
- Vacation per year: 25-30 days per year. For 5 days a week
- Expected housing cost per month: Approx. 400-600 EUR per month.
