An unexpected bonus from our Known | Personal Branding Dubai events, let me explain below:

Hosting our launch event last month and gearing up for our next event on Thursday, I’ve been blown away by the number of business deals/transactions I’ve either set up, introduced one or both parties or let the magic of the room do the work.

From introductions to restaurants, podcast appearances, business set up, freelance work and even an interview!

People are doing business from the room Ben Grove | Brand & Marketing and I put together.

Completely unexpected but I love it!

What you’re looking at here is two founders who share a common goal:

To help people become Known.

We’ve spent our whole careers working with people in different industries, helping them grow their social media presence, find a new job, create & recreate company and personal brands, build and maintain reputations - whilst also doing the same for ourselves.

I was talking to a client yesterday and they said this:

“You and Ben keep coming up in so many conversations I am having, who don’t you know?”

YES. WE. DO. It’s what we do.

Helping others become known, is only possible if we are known ourselves. (And by the way, it’s a constant effort. It requires time, effort, conversations, unlimited minutes for calling, connecting people. - it never stops).

Our next Known event is Thursday 15th October. Two incredible speakers. You’ll leave learning how to build a personal brand for yourself and an introduction to public speaking. Not to mention, great company, food, drink & a top venue.

10/101 - show up! Even when you don’t feel like it.

Consistency, honesty, showing up as your true self - these things win every-time.

People buy from people they like yes, importantly, who they trust!

What you can’t see on this video - I’m wearing Nike shorts. With an Adidas T-shirt this is a big no no for me usually - it’s either all Nike, or all Adidas. Never mix and match, but it’s been one of those weeks 😅

8/101 - Don’t be fooled into thinking what you have to say or share has already been done & doesn’t need to be done again.

There’s a reason more than one type of something exists. Someone felt they could do it better.

The same goes with your service/offering and therefore personal brand.

Just because someone’s done it before, doesn’t mean you can’t do it!

So, get sharing! I challenge you.

It’s easy to get disheartened when a post doesn’t go viral (or at least get the engagement you expected).

But what about the engagement we don’t see? That we can’t measure?

4/101 - Keep Posting! (And sharing articles/writing blogs if photos and videos aren’t your thing.)

You never know who’s watching, who’s reading, who’s engaging and ultimately, when they might reach out.

This week, I got a message from the to interview and discuss a recent viral topic. They wouldn’t have found me, had I not been visible online, talking about one of my passions - recruitment.

And it’s not just a message from the BBC, it’s people DM’ing me to say “I agree”, “that was me”, “they were there too”.

So the moral of this short Sunday story - keep posting.

Hear me out…I didn’t have enough time to “get ready” before recording but I did recognise that bad quality sound can be a killer on a video.

The premise remains - I’m shooting something on the hop before I head out. Without a filter or edits - I do add captions - that’s my thing.
