Most people don’t understand that we scan a CV in less than 6 seconds.

Put your strongest points at the top, and work your way down.

This week, millions of children are going back to school.

And we’re going to ask them the same question again:

“What do you want to be when you grow up?”

I hate that question.

Because some of the jobs they’ll be doing in 15 years probably don’t even exist yet.

Here’s what I’d rather ask:

What do you learn quickly?

What makes you curious?

What kind of problems do you enjoy solving?

Can you communicate with people?

Can you adapt when everything changes?

Because after 15 years in recruitment, I can tell you this:

The strongest careers aren’t built around one job title.

They’re built around skills the market keeps wanting.

Don’t just teach your children to choose a career.

Teach them how to become difficult to replace

Every strong person I've ever hired has been called "difficult" at some point.

Difficult usually just means you asked questions, you had standards, and you didn't nod along.

Anyone who called you difficult because they wanted someone easier to manage? That's not your problem to fix.

school, if your child asks ChatGPT to do their homework, we call it cheating.

At work, if you refuse to use AI… pretty soon, we’ll call it falling behind.

And I think we are preparing young people very badly for what is coming.

The future of work will not reward the person who can do everything alone.

It will reward the person who knows how to ask better questions, use better tools, check the answers… and do in 20 minutes what used to take three hours.

So no, I don’t want my children outsourcing their thinking to ChatGPT.

But I absolutely want them to learn how to work with AI.

Because your future colleague probably won’t lose their job to AI.

They’ll lose it to someone who knows how to use AI better than they do.

AT SCHOOL, IT’S CHEATING
AT WORK, IT’S THE FUTURE

“Apply to 50 jobs a day” is the worst career advice on the internet.

Here’s the math they’re not telling you 👇

You can say every right thing and still get a no. I read your body before I hear your answers.

Comment FIVE and I’ll send you my guide to winning the first five minutes.

Late morning, mid-week, is when they see you at your best.

You don’t take the time. You pick it.

Comment INTERVIEW for my prep checklist so you’re ready for that slot you picked 🤍

When a candidate asks you about the salary range…

STOP playing poker with it.

A good candidate will never wait around. They have plenty of better options.

Be transparent from the start.

“Tell me about yourself.” Nobody wants your life story since 2015.

They want: present → past → future in 30 seconds..

Comment “CV” and I’ll send you a free guide to a resume that actually gets callbacks.

Newsflash: You’re not getting your career handed to you.

You’re sending the same CV to every job and hoping for magic.

Your cover letter? Generic. Sometimes wrong company. And that “Open to Work” badge? It screams desperate.

You’re not job hunting. You’re spamming.

If you want it, you have to earn it. Rewrite your CV. Write a real cover letter. Talk to people. Show up. Do the work.
