Euniqa Recruit is seeking an experienced Assistant Financial Manager to oversee day-to-day accounting, lead Debtors and Creditors staff, and support the Financial Manager with reporting, compliance and financial controls.

Your responsibilities will include:
• General accounting and balance sheet reconciliations
• Full Debtors and Creditors control
• Payment verification, cashbook reviews and cash-flow
support
• Month-end processing and monthly management accounts
• Statutory returns and year-end audit preparation

What you’ll need:
• A relevant BCom degree in Finance or Accounting
• At least 10 years’ relevant experience at a comparable level
in a medium to large manufacturing environment
• Strong Excel skills and accounting software proficiency,
preferably Sage Pastel Evolution
• Proven staff supervision skills, accuracy and the ability to
meet strict deadlines

The successful candidate must have advanced, comprehensive working knowledge of Pastel and be confident managing the system across the full day-to-day bookkeeping cycle.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Quotations
- Customer invoicing
- Purchase orders
- Supplier invoices
- Receipting and payment allocations
- Financial data capturing
- Debtors and creditors
- Bank reconciliations
- Customer and supplier reconciliations
- Age analysis and account management
- Following up on outstanding accounts
- Maintaining accurate financial records
- General bookkeeping and Pastel administration
- Preparing accurate financial information for the external
accountant

The company has an external accountant who manages SARS and statutory reporting. The Bookkeeper will therefore be responsible for ensuring that all day-to-day financial transactions and records on Pastel are accurate, complete, reconciled and fully up to date.

REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 5 years' relevant bookkeeping/accounts experience preferred
- Advanced and comprehensive practical experience using Pastel – ESSENTIAL
- Proven ability to manage Pastel across the full bookkeeping
process, including quotations, invoicing, purchase orders,
receipting, data capturing, reconciliations and age analysis
- Strong debtors and creditors experience
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong numerical and administrative skills
- Ability to work independently and take ownership of the
bookkeeping function
- Reliable, organised and deadline-driven
- Good Microsoft Excel skills

Location: Pinetown, KZN
Employment: Full-time
Salary: Market-related, depending on experience

What we CAN change is what we do TODAY

Be better than you were yesterday. Learn from the mistakes, appreciate the victories, let go of what you cannot change and keep moving forward.
